Spring Break 2012

Drew had to work early in the week, so we just hung around Auburn.  Gran came up for the day on Monday to spend some time with Parker.  I took her to school on Tuesday and cleaned and organized our house.  Wednesday, we headed up to Birmingham for a mini-vaca.  Once we knew it wasn't really going to work to go anywhere for Spring Break, we decided to take Parker to the Zoo for the first time.  We stayed with my grandparents for a few nights and enjoyed relaxing and playing in a new setting.

Playtime with Daddy

I had several LATE afternoons last week.  We were interviewing for a teaching vacancy in my pod, plus a professional development session and a science meeting.  Drew picked Parker up on the days that I knew I would be super late and they got in some good outside playtime.  The pollen was really getting to Parker, so I'm hoping that the rain we've had over the weekend has knocked some of it out.  Here are a few pictures that Drew took while they were playing....

Pizza Face

We had pizza one night last week.  Of course, Miss Priss had to feed herself.  She had pizza sauce from one ear to the other and up her nose!

New Dance Moves

In trying to distract Miss Priss at the doctor on Friday, I started playing songs on my phone.  Drew had been videoing her running around the room, but her new dance moves at the end of this video had us both in hysterics!

Fifteen Months

Fifteen Month Stats:
Weight: 22 lbs, 14 oz (75th percentile!!)
Height: 30.75 in (75th percentile)
Head: 18 in

* My sweet baby is growing up so very fast!  She is definitely a toddler, and becoming more and more independent.  We are having our fair share of toddler tantrums also.  Just being real here.  I know that a lot of the problem right now is that she is not able to communicate what she wants very well.
*  We are spending a lot of time outdoors now.  Parker has taken a few spills on the concrete, and I'm proud to say that we haven't had many (if any) tears from them yet... (My Kindergarteners are crying over scratches that aren't even phasing P!)
* Inside, we still love puzzles and blocks.  She has a small ball that she loves to throw or roll to anyone who will play with her, too.

*  If I (or anyone really) tries to sit in Parker's green chair, she will pull on my arm and sign please until I get out!
* She has her eight front teeth and is in the process of cutting an upper molar.
* Parker L.O.V.E.S. any and all music and dancing.  We had to change the batteries on her boom box last week, and I'll be honest- it was nice to not have the same songs playing for a few days!
* Parker is talking a lot!  She says momma, dada, uh oh, bye bye, ball, bubble, bow, boat, wow, woah, "woof", shoes and hi (that we make out).
* She can growl like a tiger, make monkey noises and "woof" like a dog.
* No new signs this month....

Bubbles!

Parker's newest obsession... bubbles!  She loves them.  We have been outside, a lot, enjoying the wonderful early spring we are having here.  We blow bubbles, throw balls, ride in her car, ride in her wagon or just walk around.  She always has loved being outdoors.  We are also dealing with fits when it is time to come inside, too.

More Outside Fun!

We grilled hamburgers one night last week.  While Drew was grilling, we took Parker out to enjoy the nice weather and play on her swing and slide.  She had so much fun walking around the deck and going down her slide!
