Last Beach Trip of the Summer

We spent last weekend at the beach with the Bryants and the McKinnons. Shealy's parents have a place down there, so we were able to get away and enjoy some time before school starts back.

The boys went fishing on Friday, and the girls were able to relax and read on the beach. What was supposed to be a morning of fishing, turned into an all day event, but it did result in fresh fish for dinner. Clayton did a great job cooking it too!

Saturday when we woke up it was raining, however, once it stopped we were able to spend another nice day on the beach.

We had a great time! Thanks Bryants and McKinnons.... I can't wait 'til next time!

Beachin' It!

Despite the fact that it rained every day, we had a great time at the beach last week! Drew's parents rented a house in Seagrove and it was so nice. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom and we had a wonderful view of the beach. I spent enough time sitting on the beach that I read like 8 books. (I'm a pretty fast reader!)
Monday it rained so much that we gave up trying to sit outside and went into Destin. We shopped, ate out and went to the movies. We saw The Proposal and it was hilarious! The plot was predictable, like most romantic comedies, but I would definitely go see it again!
Drew was not able to come down until Thursday because of work. His parents arranged for us to stay at his grandparent's condo again so he could have a few days at the beach. Drew's grandparents have a condo at Seacove. For years, G-Daddy (Drew's grandfather) has told me you won't find a better piece of property anywhere on this beach. I would say that I have to agree. While Seacove is across the street from the beach, there is a private beach entrance and it is NEVER crowded. There are two pools, plus a huge grassy area with a swingset.
On the 4th of July, we ate dinner at Seacove with the rest of the family plus half of Opp. Over the years, many families from Opp have taken to renting at Seacove for the week of the fourth. Drew's grandparents and another couple always, and I mean always, cook for the people they know. It's good food too! After food, the kids (and dads) played a pickup game of baseball in the backyard. They had a good time waiting on the fireworks.

Apparently, we're going to be visiting Seacove for quite a while. Drew's parents are expecting to close on a condo at the end of this week!

Where has summer gone?

I cant' believe it's already July! Summer is passing oh so quickly. It's hard to think I start back to school in a month. Wow!

Well, sadly enough we didn't take any pictures at the beach. We had a great time sitting in the sand, relaxing and enjoying some yummy seafood.

We spent last weekend in Birmingham for Drew's cousin's wedding. We went up on Thursday to visit with Tom, Amanda and John. My brother flew in from Houston for the weekend on Friday so we had lunch with him. The rest of the weekend was spent doing wedding stuff. We got to visit with Drew's family and enjoyed the wedding. Congrats to Melissa and Tony!

(The only pictures on my camera from the weekend are of John- of course!)

My mom came down to Auburn on Sunday to bring curtains to my sweet friend Lindsay whose Baby Girl is coming this Saturday. I'm so excited. I can't wait to meet her!

I'm leaving with Drew's parents for the beach tomorrow! Drew won't be able to come until Thursday because of work :(. Hopefully this trip we'll get some pictures.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!
