Halfway There

Yesterday, we hit 20 weeks. It's crazy to think that we are already halfway through the pregnancy! We've been feeling baby girl move and kick like crazy. Drew felt her for the first time last Wednesday before we left for the beach. In other news, we are going to Columbus to pick up the crib today, and I've picked out fabric for my wonderful mother to make Parker's bedding!
Here are a few belly shots that we have taken:

Sad Morning

This guy officially left for Houston this morning. Auburn is no longer his home. It was a very sad morning for me. After choking back the tears, I headed up to school to distract myself while Drew slept. It's just a little hard to realize that his new home is 10 hours away by car, or even having to travel by plane.

We were able to go to a surprise going away party for him on Monday night. His girlfriend got it together and even thought to include mom & I. Very impressed. Anyways, one of his friends made the cake. Apparently there was a major discussion as to what to write on it. The guys wanted "Go Away Jager". Haha!

Now I'm just counting down until he comes back for a visit Labor Day Weekend. Yeah- don't let it fool you. He doesn't want to see me... he's coming for the girl :), but that's okay!

Beach Trip

We spent last weekend at the beach with the Bryants and the McKinnons. It was a great trip. Definitely what I needed before going back to school. Very relaxing. No agenda. Just friends and fun. Unfortunately, I did not take a single picture. Hop on over to the McKinnons blog to see a few pictures of the boys fishing trip and us sitting on the beach.

Weekend

I spent last weekend at home in good ole Scottsboro. The plan was for mom and I to go fabric shopping to try to find something for the nursery. We did get to one fabric store, but the one we really wanted to go to was closed. We bummed around in Huntsville for a while at some baby stores and I got some great ideas for Miss Parker's nursery. Mom has been busy since the day we found out that we were having a girl. She kept a TON of my old clothes and has since washed them and let them hem out of some. This is what I brought back that was up to 9 months in size...

Parker already has a ton of dresses. That's for sure!

A quick shout out to Shealy... thank you for riding to Columbus with me today! I called yesterday to order the crib that Drew and I had picked out only to find out that it takes 16-18 weeks to be ordered. Yeah... I can't wait that long to get this nursery finished. Shealy saved the day and rode with me to Columbus and we bought a crib today. We're going back to pick it up next week!

Jamaica in Pictures- Part 3

The last night we were in Jamaica, the hotel hosted a Jamaica Night. They had a buffet stocked full of traditional Jamaican food and evening entertainment. We had a great time!

Summer Vacay #2

I definitely have to get better about taking pictures on our trips... I know it will be easier once Miss Parker gets here to document her, but we seriously took know people pictures on this trip! Last Friday, I left for the beach with Drew's family. He wasn't able to come down until Monday because of work. We had a great time just relaxing.

There wasn't any oil in sight, but that also might have been due to the cleanup crews that were constantly on the beach. (I personally feel like they were wasting money having that many people out there all. day. long... but no one asked me). Most of what I saw the cleanup crew pick up was June grass or seaweed. A few people claimed they saw tar balls, but who really knows!
We did see this really neat upside down rainbow one day. There wasn't a raincloud anywhere to be seen. It was absolutely beautiful outsisde. We were sitting by the pool and looked up and noticed it.
We also went on a shopping trip for miss priss... it was so much fun being able to actually shop and not just look! It didn't hurt that a grandmother was shopping too! This baby is going to be spoiled rotten!!

Baby Mims is a.....

GIRL!!!!!!
The blog world was correct! We had a great appointment this morning and got lots of good pictures of our sweet baby girl, although she was hiding out down around my pelvic bone. OUCH! The ultrasound technician was positive she's a girl. Her heartrate was 148 bpm today. We've called the entire family to share the news and everyone is elated!

As for her name, she will be Parker Elizabeth Mims. I've always loved the name Parker, and it just so happened that Drew's grandmother's maiden name is Parker so it fit perfectly. Elizabeth comes from several sides of the family as well. We will call her Parker. Now... for the shopping to begin!!!
